Camp Oty'Okwa

Camp Oty'Okwa is one of two residential camps in the country owned and operated by a Big Brothers Big Sisters agency. Camp Oty'Okwa has been operated by the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Central Ohio since 1942.

The camp covers several hundred scenic acres nestled in the forests of the Hocking Hills State Park and Nature Preserves. The immediate facilities are set atop one of the highest hills in the area and are surrounded by steep terrain, mature woodlands, rock formations, hollows, and two large caves. This environment provides an excellent site for exploration and appreciation of nature.

Camp Oty'Okwa is available for group rental throughout the year. The camp is ideal for school or church groups as well as business conferences and retreats. The facilities include three lodges, dining hall, shelter house, medical building, activity center, rustic summer cabins and platform tents, swimming pool, campfire ring, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, sand volleyball court, seven-acre field, and laundry facilities. A shower house is adjacent to each of the rustic camp units.

Camp Oty'Okwa is accredited by the American Camping Association. The camp complies with standards set by the State of Ohio and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. The camp staff is trained in emergency procedures for fire, storms, serious injury, and lost persons.
