Welcome to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio!

The Delaware County Program offers many volunteer opportunities impacting the lives of hundreds of youth, ages 6 to 16, in the county area each year through its mentoring programs, which include: the traditional Community Based one-to-one program, School-based programs, waiting list programs, and a summer camping program at Camp Oty'Okwa.

Our mentoring programs provide a Big Brother or Big Sister to deserving youth in need of a special friend, producing mutually rewarding experiences for both the Big and the Little. All of the children and youth from the County who are involved in the programs come from single-parent or transitional family homes and are referred by the parent, school, or other community service agencies.

Our School based programs match volunteers from Ohio Wesleyan University, and County High Schools with junior and elementary age youth to help with academic and social skills. Scheduling is flexible.

The Make It Big Team is a gathering of volunteers providing educational topics and socialization in a relaxed atmosphere that promotes sharing and support.

Ohio Wesleyan University Bishop Buddies provides Delaware county program youth the benefit of activities with college students on campus once-a-month during the school year. The OWU student organization provides youth with a unique mentoring experience offering a look into the college campus environment and to a variety of excellent experiences with student role models.

Ohio Wesleyan University also hosts the Ohio Wesleyan Bowl For Kids Sake each spring as a campus community service fund raiser. Students, faculty and administrators solicit funds and bowl on behalf of the Delaware program. Click here to view pictures from Bowl for Kids Sake 2004!

The American Showa Golf Outing benefiting the Delaware County program is held in the summer and provides an opportunity for staff and volunteers to team up with American Showa employees and clients for a full day of golf, food, and fun: Rain or shine.
