IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio presented the 2009 Milton Lewin Legacy Award at the agency's Annual Meeting in October. The award honors Milt’s lifelong dedication and service to our agency and the at-risk children of central Ohio. Milt’s dedication and commitment to Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout his life included volunteering as a Big Brother, serving as a Board member, and Co-chairing the agency’s first capital campaign. Each year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio recognizes a valued partner with the coveted Milton Lewin Legacy Award.

The 2009 Milton Lewin Legacy Award goes to the agency's valued partner, American Electric Power.

Together, AEP; AEP Ohio; the American Electric Power Foundation; AEP’s dedicated employees; and AEP’s leader, Michael G. Morris, chairman, president and chief executive officer, play an important, positive role in our community. Their philanthropic focus on education, environment, safety, hunger, health and housing impacts our entire community.

AEP has a long history of corporate philanthropy, and its support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio and Project Mentor are excellent examples of the way the company and its employees come together to support initiatives that are important to the communities it serves.

All of central Ohio benefits from AEP’s corporate citizenship, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio is proud to honor AEP; AEP Ohio; the AEP Foundation; AEP’s dedicated associates; and Michael G. Morris with the 2009 Milton Lewin Legacy Award.
