It costs $1,250 to provide a quality mentoring relationship for one child for one year - to recruit a volunteer, screen and match the volunteer to a child on our waiting list, and provide support services for the volunteer, child and family.

Planned Giving - Consider Leaving a Lasting Legacy
By leaving a legacy through a gift of estate assets, you can continue to help Big Brothers Big Sisters make an important difference in the lives of at-risk youth in central Ohio.

Annual Giving
Annual Giving is a personal investment in the lives of more than 6,500 children in Central Ohio.
Big Brothers Big Sisters reaches out to the community through direct mail and one-to-one solicitations for donor support.
A single gift can make it possible for a child to attend a session at Camp Oty'Okwa or help cover the cost of matching a child on our waiting list to a Big Brother or Big Sister! Annual Gifts range in level and include both corporate and individual giving.
Special Events
Big Brothers Big Sisters relies on our annual special events to raise money to support the approximately 4,000 children and youth we serve through our mentoring and camping programs annually.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is always looking for new corporate sponsors to help us underwrite the costs of our special events. Corporations as well as individuals can make donations towards these efforts.

Matching Gifts
Many corporations and businesses match gifts to charitable contributions made by their employees.
Other corporations donate money to the charities where their employees volunteer.
Some companies also match gifts and volunteer hours made by employees' spouses as well as retired employees.

Gifting of Appreciated Securities
Donors may also give gifts of appreciated securities to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Contributing appreciated securities may benefit donors in several ways:
- Avoid paying capital gains taxes on your gain in the securities
- Receive a charitable tax deduction for the full market value of the securities
- Receive the satisfaction that you have made a difference in the life of a child through a donation to BBBS
Gift of Stock
Stocks may be transferred either electronically, by mail, or in person.
Detailed transfer instructions for each method are available in the Procedures for Transmitting Securities of Publicly Traded Companies document which is available from Big Brothers Big Sisters.
