Now that you're ready to become a Big, please review the following volunteer criteria and intake process information.
Community Based Program Volunteer Considerations
- Volunteers in the Community Based (one-to-one) program need to be 21 years of age or older to become a Big Brother or Big Sister.
- Volunteers must be able to make an 18 month commitment.
- Volunteers should have two or more face to face interactions with their Little Brother or Little Sister each month.

The Enrollment Process Involves:
- Volunteer Application with four references
- Background Check (a prior arrest does not automatically disqualify a volunteer)
- Personal interview with an Enrollment Coordinator
- After you have completed the enrollment process and have been accepted as a Big Brother or Big Sister, you can expect the following:
- To have a professional match support coordinator who will help to support your relationship with your Little.
- To be introduced to your Little Brother or Little Sister and the Little's parent/guardian during a meeting at the Little's home.
- To talk with your match support coordinator on a monthly basis to discuss the relationship you are developing with your little.
